① 京の寿司処 きし鮓/Kishizushi
A family-owned sushi restaurant has been serving locals for more than 100 years. Ask for the daily “omakase” course (chef’s recommendation); starting at 4,000 yen. Reservations are needed!
② 西冨屋コロッケ店 | Nishitomiya
A stylish restaurant that specializes in korokke (Japanese croquettes). Made fresh upon order, we recommend their blue-cheese korokke! (Take-out available)

This renovated machiya-turned-cafe offers a beautiful view of the Kamo River. They serve French and Japanese cuisine, and are opened everyday from 10am until midnight.

A modern take on traditional kaiseki (Traditional multi-course dinner) –The set menu changes monthly to showcase seasonal ingredients and the open-kitchen setting offers a very lively atmosphere.

A cafe, gallery, and shop. Stop by for a light meal, and enjoy a relaxing atmosphere while looking out onto the Kamogawa River.

This casual yakiniku restaurant (grilled meat) offers the best cuts in the city. Eat & grill your own meat to your heart’s content while drinking a glass of “Aje Original Blue cocktail”!
⑦ イカリヤ食堂 | Ikariya
Located within a machiya house nearby the Nishiki food market, this popular Patisserie is known for their fruit tarts made with seasonal fruits only. We also highly recommend to try the “Pyramid” – a chocolate shaped pyramid filled with rich chocolate mousse.
