There is also a charming “tsuboniwa” (a small interior garden) that can be found as you move further into the house. With greenery typically found in Japanese gardens, rocks, and a serene atmosphere, you’ll be able to enjoy all four seasons of Kyoto throughout the year. The tsuboniwa garden’s main appeal is that it can be enjoyed from interior of the machiya’s open terrace.
