Step outside and imagine life in traditional Kyoto as you explore the area, a former geiko and teahouse ‘hanamachi’ district. Walk 4 minutes and discover Nishi Honganji Temple, a UNESCO world heritage site, with its 17th century architecture and impressive gates and halls.

A 6-minute walk west brings you to Kyoto City Central Wholesale Market, Kyoto’s local fish market. Visit in the morning - when the neighbourhood is its liveliest - to sample fresh sushi or to select your favourite baked goods and seasonal ingredients to enjoy at home.
