1. Terms & Conditions

1. 1.1.These Terms and Conditions are between you (“guest”, “guests”, “you”), Machiya Residence Inn, and it’s management company AJ INTERBRIDGE INC, ("Machiya Residence Inn”, the "Hotel”, “we”, “us”, “our”, “company”) and govern your use of the Machiya Residence Inn platform and website located at www.kyoto-machiya-inn.com, and all other Machiya Residence Inn related websites, and mobile and social media applications that link to these Terms and Conditions (together, the "Services”). In consideration of the right to access and use the Services, you agree to the terms and conditions of use set forth herein, along with any rules, policies and procedures that Machiya Residence Inn may institute from time-to-time (these "Terms of Use” “Terms and Conditions”, “Services”).
2. 1.2.Machiya Residence Inn may change the terms and conditions of the “Traditional Samurai Sword Experience” (“experience”, “tour”, “Activity”, “tour activity”) at any time without notice. Any change to the terms of conditions of this Tour will be reflected in the Terms and Conditions found on the Tour website, and will be deemed the official version of the Terms and Conditions for the “Traditional Samurai Sword Experience”.
3. 1.3.Contracts for Accommodation and related agreements between the Hotel and the Guest to be accommodated shall be subject to these Terms and Conditions. Any particulars not provided for herein shall be governed by laws and regulations and/or generally accepted practices.

2. How to use this service

1. 2.1.The “Traditional Samurai Sword Experience” activity is available for guests who are staying with MACHIYA RESIDENCE INN Kyoto.
2. 2.2.Depending on availability, you may not be able to make a reservation at your desired machiya house or desired tour date and time. In that case, our MACHIYA RESIDENCE INN staff will provide other options when available.
3. 2.3.Your tour reservation will be confirmed once your tour fee has been paid in full. Details regarding your tour reservation (location, address, etc.) will be sent after the reservation has been confirmed.

3. Our responsibility / disclaimer

1. 3.1.MACHIYA RESIDENCE INN is not liable for any damages caused by the following reasons:
   • When the customer suffers any damage or injury due to the intentional or negligence of the customer or a third party.
   • Cancellations or changes in schedules caused by natural disasters, weather conditions, riots, etc.
   • Accidents, food poisoning, theft, forgotten items
   • Cancellation or non-participation of the tour due to delay in departure by customer
2. 3.2.The tour fee will be refunded if the tour is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances that may affect customers’ safety, such as extreme weather, etc
3. 3.3.The tour operator is responsible for damages incurred by the customer during the tour, and MACHIYA RESIDENCE INN will not be held responsible.

4. Customer responsibility

1. 4.1.Customers shall be held liable for any damage, loss, or expense incurred by MACHIYA RESIDENCE INN as a result of the customer’s intentional actions or negligence. In such cases, MACHIYA RESIDENCE INN reserves the right to seek full compensation from the customer.
2. 4.2.For safety reasons, this experience is not recommended for individuals with medical conditions such as back problems, heart conditions, or any other health concerns that may be aggravated by participation.
3. 4.3.For safety reasons, this experience is not recommended for pregnant persons due to potential health and safety risks.

5. Cancellation Policy / Your right to cancel the tour contract

1. If you, the guests, cancels this activity, you may cancel the tour contract by paying the cancellation fee specified below. The cancellation date is the date on which the customer requests a cancellation within the business day and business hours of MACHIYA RESIDENCE INN. Please note that if the guest contacts MACHIYA RESIDENCE INN outside of our business hours or business days, the cancellation request will be accepted the following business day.

6. PAYMENT METHOD

1. 6.1.The payment for this tour activity can be made via credit card, PayPal.
2. 6.2.All transaction fees that incur with the receiving and refunding of any fees will fall under the guests’ responsibility.

7. Tour Details

1. This tour will be available in English and Japanese. For more details, please confirm the tour activity page on our official website.

8. Reservation

1. The Traditional Samurai Sword Experience is available exclusively for a limited number of groups per day. As such, please note that your preferred tour date and time may not be available. Once we have received your tour inquiry, our staff will check for availability and reply to you within 1 business day to confirm availability on your requested dates. Guests must make a full tour fee payment within 72 hours of receiving a payment request from our staff to confirm a tour reservation. This tour activity will be available for guests who have made with MACHIYA RESIDENCE INN Kyoto only.
