When are reservations available?
MACHIYA RESIDENCE INN accepts reservations up to 6 months in advance (which includes the current month).
Please check back on our website on the 1st of every month to see the new reservation openings of our traditional Japanese holiday homes!

How To Check-in
(Check-in Registration)

  • Our machiya homes are private holiday homes rentals located throughout Kyoto City.
  • There is no front desk or staff at the machiya holiday homes.
  • You must complete your Check-in Registration in person
    at the MACHIYA INNS & HOTELS Check-in Desk (10AM-7PM) before going to your reserved machiya house.

walk from the main Central Exit (中央口・Chuo-guchi) on the Kyoto Tower Side (North).

How to complete your Check-in Registration

  1. STEP 1 Prepare Your Passports Our staff will take a copy of all guests’ passports.
  2. STEP 2 Fill in a Registration Card 1 Guest (reservation representative) will fill in 1 registration card for the entire group.
  3. STEP 3 Payment for the Kyoto City Accommodation Tax All guests must complete payment for the accommodation tax. The accommodation tax is required by Kyoto city.
  4. STEP 4 Receive your Machiya House Door Code (Keypad Code) You will not be able to enter the house without your Machiya House Door Code.
  5. STEP 5 Machiya House Check-in (3PM~)Machiya Inns & Hotels After you have completed your registration, you may enter your machiya house after 3PM~.
    Open the door using your Machiya House Door Code (Keypad Code).
  • If you will require a late check-in (after 7PM), please note that you must contact our staff in advance at info1@kyoto-machiya-inn.com.

Luggage Delivery (10AM~3PM)

Delivery
Coin lockers at Kyoto Station can cost between up to 1,000 yen per locker to store large suitcases, and other delivery services can cost up to 1,000 yen per luggage & require you to be available at your accommodation to receive the suitcase.

Arrive at the MACHIYA INNS & HOTELS Check-in Desk between 10AM ~ 3PM, and We will deliver your luggage directly to your machiya house for a small fee.

As we'll be able to deliver your luggage straight to your house, you can start exploring Kyoto hassle free!
(You won't need to be at the house to receive your luggage, as we'll place it inside of the machiya house)
